Believe it - Kanu Nwankwo celebrates 'Super Eagles soaring' into AFCON last 8 against Cameroon

Nigerian football legend Kanu Nwankwo was in ecstatic mood as the Super Eagles booked their spot in the Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals with a win against Cameroon.

Ademola Lookman was the star of the day after his brace fired the Super Eagles to a comfortable 2-0 win against the Indomitable Lions on Saturday night. 

The former Arsenal striker joined millions of Nigerians to enjoy the victory as Nigeria put on a show to overcome the Indomitable Lions in the latest chapter of their rivalry at AFCON.

King Kanu took to social media to celebrate, declaring “Kan U believe it” as Nigeria moved one step closer to a fourth AFCON title in Cote d’Ivoire.

“KAN U BELIEVE IT YESSSSSS  KANU BELIEVE IT,” the former African player of the year stated on his X.com account. 

“Super Eagles Nigeria are on their way to the quarterfinals #AFCON2023,” he added. “Combined effort everyone @ng_supereagles More goals ahead congratulations.

The former Inter Milan man shared his thoughts alongside videos of him celebrating Ademola Lookman’s goals against the hapless Lions of Cameroon at the Stade Felix Houphouet in Abidjan.

Following the victory, Nigeria will now take on Angola, who thrashed Namibia 3-0 in the first game of the knockout stage, for a place in the last four.
