Kano Pillars Football Club has confirmed that their U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident while travelling to Plateau State for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League.

In a series of tweets on their official X account, the club expressed their sadness and concern for those affected by the accident.

"It is with deep sadness that we announce that the Kano Pillars FC U-19 team bus was involved in a road accident earlier today while en route to the New Jos Stadium for their Matchday 5 fixture in the inaugural U-19 Youth League against Plateau United U-19," Kano Pillars tweeted.

The club confirmed that both the driver and several players sustained injuries in the accident but thankfully, there were no fatalities.

"Several players and the driver sustained injuries in the unfortunate incident and have been promptly taken to the hospital for medical attention," the club stated.

Kano Pillars requested understanding and support from their fans during this difficult time. "Thank you for your understanding and support during this difficult time," they added.

This incident comes just days after Kano Pillars' first team played a 1-1 draw with Kwara United in the NPFL with Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa recording an assist.
