Joseph Olowu: Nigerian born star joins Stockport County
Joseph Olowu has made a significant move joining Stockport County by signing on a three-year deal.
The defender, whose contract with Doncaster Rovers expired following the 2024-25 season, brings a wealth of experience to Edgeley Park/
Olowu, a 25-year-old defender of Nigerian descent helped the Doncaster Rovers’ to League Two title-winning campaign.
Born in Ibadan, Nigeria, before moving to England as a child, Olowu is eligible to represent the Super Eagles, Nigeria’s national team.
Stockport announced the deal with massive photos that went viral on social media.

Along with the photos was a message that said, "We are delighted to announce that we have agreed terms for the signing of League Two title-winner, Joseph Olowu.
"The defender will sign a three-year deal at Edgeley Park following the expiration of his contract at Doncaster Rovers.
"Welcome to County, Joseph!"

Olowu stated the reason he decided to join another division rival.
He added, "Excited to be here and ready for the challenge ahead @stockportcounty.
"Can’t wait to play in front of the fans at Edgeley.
“Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.”
Olowu is expected to make an impact with his new team as they contend in the EFL.
