Jamie Carragher reveals clever way he plans to help Liverpool in Alonso pursuit

"Yes, if there's other people in for him, of course. Listen, who knows if he's going to leave Leverkusen, I feel if he goes on to do what we think - winning the title - it'll be difficult to stay, because he'll have some great offers.

"And fingers crossed it's my Liverpool!" Carragher said, as reported by Daily Star, highlighting the competitive edge to lure Alonso.

This success has only fueled the fire of speculation linking Alonso with the Liverpool job. "I just think he's got his focus on Leverkusen, at the moment.

But he's still seeing my stories on Instagram, so I can see he's checking in on me... we'll get the March international break and I'll see what's going on!" Carragher added, showcasing a blend of humour and hope in securing Alonso for Liverpool.
