Iwobi and Bassey's Fulham looking to sign Samuel Chukwueze to replace Adama Traore
Fulham are reportedly interested in signing AC Milan winger Samuel Chukwueze as a potential replacement for Adama Traore, who is attracting interest from Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest.
Rumours suggest the 26-year-old Nigerian international may leave AC Milan due to inconsistent performance since his €20m transfer from Villarreal in 2023. He is currently with the team for pre-season training.
According to Calciomercato.com, Fulham had already made inquiries about Chukwueze’s availability during the January transfer window, and they are now back in the hunt as Traore’s departure appears imminent.
The West London club, home to Nigerian internationals Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey, could soon add another Super Eagle to their squad as they look to boost their attack ahead of the new season.
Why Chukwueze?
Chukwueze has struggled to live up to expectations at San Siro, with just eight goals and six assists in 69 appearances since his move from Villarreal. Despite flashes of brilliance, the winger has yet to fully settle in Serie A.
Milan, now managed by Massimiliano Allegri, is reportedly open to offloading the Nigerian for a fee between €15m and €20m as they seek to reshape their squad.
Potential Super Eagles link-up in London
Should the move materialise, Chukwueze would reunite with national teammates Iwobi and Bassey, creating a strong Nigerian trio at Craven Cottage.
The potential partnership could excite both Fulham fans and Super Eagles supporters, especially with AFCON 2025 and World Cup qualifiers on the horizon.
For now, it remains to be seen whether Fulham will make a formal offer, and whether Chukwueze is ready to leave Italy.
