Nigerian striker Cyriel Dessers has expressed his delight after firing Rangers into the Scottish Cup final with a match-winning brace against a tough opponent.
Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the striker described his two goals in the semi-final at Hampden Park as a "beautiful day’’ in front of their fans on Sunday.
Nigeria’s Dessers Demands More
Despite admitting he could have played better; Dessers was thrilled to have delivered in a high-pressure situation.
"When you score two goals in a semi-final, you have to be happy with that, but we want more," he said according to BBC Scotland.
The 29-year-old Super Eagles forward has faced criticism since joining Rangers, but his 18th and 19th goals of the season have silenced the doubters.
"If you look at the last months, we showed what we're capable of," Dessers declared confidently.
The Belgian-born forward believes Rangers can be "the best team in the league" if they can rediscover their recent "vibe and rhythm."
With an Old Firm derby final now on the horizon, Dessers is hungry for more success, stating: "I want more goals, I want more wins, and hopefully, more trophies as well."
His match-winning display has set up a mouthwatering clash against Celtic, and the striker's belief in his side's abilities will only add to the anticipation surrounding the final.
Rangers fans will be hoping Dessers can continue his rich vein of form and deliver the coveted Scottish Cup trophy against their bitter rivals.
