“I do not understand that either’ - Turkish expert explains reason behind Osayi’s poor form

Bright Osayi has been on the Turkish news for a while now due to his contract situation with Fenerbahce.

The defender is yet to sign a new contract with the Turkish side and has been linked with a move away from the club.

Despite the contract issue, Osayi has continued to be a vital member of the team, playing in Fenerbahce's most recent 3-0 Ziraat Turkish Cup triumph over Kasımpaşa.

Özer has provided insight into the contract status of Bright Osayi-Samuel, a Nigerian fullback whose contract with Fenerbahce is about to expire at the end of the current campaign.

According to MSN, Özer mentioned a drop in Osayi's performance during the game against Kasımpaşa in his analysis of the fullback.

"What caught my attention is that Osayi played less than expected again. This guy was a player who came and went, was very effective, especially in attacking actions, had high energy, and contributed to the result. 

“However, it is obvious that this contract has upset him. I do not understand that either. You focus on your football, but he does not."

The club is worried about the ongoing contract negotiations, and Halil Özer has emphasised that Osayi-Samuel's on-field performances are starting to suffer as a result.

He has made 20 appearances so far this season in all competitions, recording one assist and displaying both offensive and defensive strength.

Osayi-Samuel's contract is about to expire, so he can now talk to other teams and possibly get a free transfer at the end of the current campaign.
