Middleborough forward Chuba Akpom has dedicated his Championship award to his teammates and family.
Akpom was on Sunday named the Championship Player of Year for the 2022/2023 season.
The award comes as a reward for the 28-year-old who has been in superb form for the promotion-chasing team.
He has scored 28 goals for Boro this season and could add to that tally with three games to go in the season.
Akpom reacts to award
Following his win at the Championship awards, the former Arsenal has to his social media page to react.
The Boro star is happy with his award and dedicated his win to his team and family.
“Feeling extremely humbled and blessed to receive this award,” Akpom posted on his Twitter page.
“It’s been a journey full of ups and downs but I’ve learnt so much on the way. I’d like to thank my teammates, my family, fans and everyone that’s supported me.”
Boro hopeful of playoff spot
Akpom and his Boro teammates will be looking to finish the season on a high as they look to make it to the playoffs.
With three games to go in the season, the Riverside club are fourth on the table and Akpom will be looking to add to his goal tally this season which would see him take home another Championship award.
