It was a party mood in the Real Madrid dressing room after the game against FC Barcelona at Camp Nou on Wednesday night.
An excited Real manager Carlo Ancelotti made his players’ night after he announced a free day following their incredible 4-0 win against their bitter rivals.
Ancelotti and his Real side will not be training on Thursday as a reward for making it to the final of the Spanish cup, Copa Del Rey.
Generous Ancelotti makes Real players happy
The Italian manager gave his players an off day on Thursday as a reward for the excellent performance against Barcelona.
A Karim Benzema-led Los Blancos went, saw and conquered the Catalans in a blistering 4-0 win in the Copa Del Rey semifinal second leg.
Benzema scored a remarkable second-half hat-trick while Vinicius Jr scored one and assisted two of the former’s goals to inspire Real Madrid to the final of the Spanish Cup.
After the win, Real’s boss, Ancelotti, joined up with his players in the dressing room where he got all the players excited as he announced a free day for all on Thursday.
From the video making the rounds on social media, the players can be seen excitedly jumping and congratulating following the kind gesture from their manager.
However, as per Daily mail, the former Chelsea and AC Milan boss also reminded his players that they should remember that they still have a cup to win.
Xavi gives reasons for humiliation
Barcelona boss, Xavi Hernandez has explained what happened to him and his team against rivals Madrid.
It was a night to forget for the Catalans as Real overturned a first-leg deficit brilliantly.
Speaking after the game, the Barca boss was very honest about what he had just witnessed.
"When you don't kill Real Madrid, Real Madrid kill you," Xavi said after the match.
"We didn't score at least one goal. They were better than us, and this is football."
"We are playing against Real Madrid, They are a great team and they showed their best level in the second half."
