While Ochieng was celebrating victory, Ogam was on the end of a loss, on a day when he did not even make the matchday squad.

Ochieng was on target as his Real Sociedad B beat Leganes 2-1 in a La Liga 2 match played at the Campo Jose Luis Orbegozo Stadium on Saturday.

The Kenyan winger broke the deadlock after 18 minutes, having been teed up by Gorka Carrera Zarranz but Leganes restored parity in the 40th minute through Amadou Diawara.

It seemed like the match would end 1-1 but Sociedad had the last laugh when Dani Díaz scored in stoppage time to hand them all three points, which leaves them in 16th place on the table, with 15 points from 13 matches.

Ochieng was, however, taken off after 75 minutes after a nock that he will hope to overcome as he links up with the Harambee Stars squad for this month’s friendly matches against Editorial Guinea and Senegal.

Ryan Ogam Continues to Miss Out on Action

The 22-year-old has so far played 10 matches across all competitions for the Spanish second tier club, with six starts, and has managed two goals and as many assists.

Meanwhile, it was not a celebration for Ogam who was not in the matchday squad as his Wolfsberger AC lost 2-1 at home to Hertberg in the Austrian Bundesliga on Saturday.

It was the second straight match in which Ogam was not in the squad and a fourth straight in the league that he has not played with just two games to his name since joining the Austrian top flight club.
