The second half was a different story. Flick introduced Marcus Rashford at the break for added x-factor and the change paid off almost instantly. In the 50th minute Rashford’s cross from the right found Jules Koundé, who climbed between markers to power a header home and level the match
Three minutes later Barcelona struck again: a corner routine led to Lamine Yamal whipping in an inviting cross and Koundé rose once more to head Barcelona in front, this time to the near post.
Frankfurt pushed late and had flashes. Ellyes Skhiri’s work in midfield kept the visitors looking dangerous on the counter and there were anxious moments for Barça as the match closed, but Barcelona’s defence and Joan García saw the job through.
