The FKF Cup, a prestigious annual event in the Kenyan football calendar, not only offers a coveted trophy but also serves as a gateway for entry into the CAF Confederation Cup.

This year, however, the absence of Muhoroni Youth, Murang'a Seal, Nzoia Sugar, and Nairobi City Stars from the Premier League bracket has opened up new opportunities for other clubs to make their mark.

Despite these notable withdrawals, the competition is set to be fiercely contested with the participation of 14 FKF Premier League clubs, including last year's champions Kakamega Homeboyz, alongside AFC Leopards, Bandari, Bidco United, FC Talanta, Gor Mahia, Kariobangi Sharks, KCB, Kenya Police, Posta Rangers, Shabana, Sofapaka, Tusker, and Ulinzi Stars.

In addition to the top-flight teams, the FKF Cup will feature a diverse mix of clubs from various tiers of Kenyan football.

The National Super League (NSL) is represented by five teams: Kajiado FC, Mara Sugar, Mombasa Stars, Silibwet Leon, and SS Assad.

The lower tiers are not left out, with four clubs from FKF Division One - Compel Sports Club, MOFA, Vegpro, and Zetech Titans - also joining the fray.

The regional representation is equally impressive, with 12 teams from across Kenya, including Al Alzizia (Meru), Bomachoge Borabu (Kisii), Bumbani Stars (Kwale), Bungoma Stars (Bungoma), Eldoro Sports Club Villa (Taita Taveta), Harvest of Hope Africa (Busia), Marafiki FC (Nyeri), Nyamira Super Eagles (Nyamira), PAC University (Nairobi), Shalimar FC (Naivasha), Uzalendo FC (Machakos), and Wisdom Soccer Academy (Kitale) all set to participate.

The draw for the tournament is scheduled for January 17, 2024, and anticipation is building for what promises to be a thrilling series of matches.

The Round of 32 will kick off on February 24th and 25th, followed by the Round of 16 on March 30th and 31st. The quarter-finals are slated for April 27th and 28th, with the semi-finals taking place on May 25th and 26th.

The climax of the tournament, the finals, is scheduled for June 6, 2024.

The winner of the FKF Cup not only earns the prestige of lifting the trophy but also walks away with a cash prize of Ksh2 million and a chance to compete in the CAF Confederation Cup, adding significant stakes to the competition.
