Former LaLiga star claims Super Eagles forward is unstoppable

Former Villarreal striker Nihat Kahveci has showered praise on Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu following his latest dominant display in Turkey.

The ex-LaLiga forward described Onuachu as an aerial force that defenders simply cannot contain.

Kahveci’s comments came after Onuachu scored in Trabzonspor’s 3-2 defeat to Fenerbahce at Papara Park.

The Nigerian striker rose highest to power home a header from Mathias Fjørtoft Løvik’s cross, once again showcasing the physical dominance that has defined his season.

Speaking on the Kontraspor YouTube channel, Kahveci was emphatic in his assessment. “From that cross that was delivered, I don’t see any centre-back profile capable of stopping Onuachu. Maybe there isn’t one in the world,” he said.

The former Besiktas and Villarreal star pointed to Onuachu’s blend of height, strength and timing as key attributes that make him the most dangerous aerial presence in the Super Lig.

Onuachu’s goal against Fenerbahçe was another addition to a remarkable campaign for the Super Eagles striker.

The former Southampton striker has scored 16 goals and provided one assist in just 19 Super Lig appearances.

His impressive tally has lifted him to the top of the league’s scoring chart, edging ahead of Uzbek forward Eldor Shomurodov despite playing two fewer matches.

With form like this, Kahveci’s bold claim may not be far from the truth as the giant Nigerian striker continues to make his mark in Turkey.
