Following his unveiling as the newest ambassador for Beats by Dre, the 17-year-old Barcelona star opened up about his playlist favourites and revealed a deep love for Afrobeats, giving fans a rare look into his off-field passions.

“I listen [to] Afro music [a lot],” Yamal told the host with a grin, before revealing the two stars who top his list. 

“Burna [Boy] and Rema,” he said confidently, name-dropping Nigeria’s Grammy-winning giant and the chart-topping Calm Down singer as his ultimate go-tos.

The revelation sparked immediate buzz — not only for what Yamal said but also for who he didn’t mention.

Just weeks ago, Nigerian artist Skales was celebrating a resurgence of his 2015 banger Shake Body, after a video of Yamal dancing to the track with teammates Nico Williams and Samu Omorodion went viral. 

The clip reignited interest in the song and gave Skales a streaming boost and global exposure.

Days later, the former EME signee released a track titled Dance Like Lamine Yamal in tribute to the Spanish wonderkid.

But despite all that fanfare, Yamal’s latest comments appear to snub Skales entirely, prompting mixed reactions across social media.
