Boniface sends message to Super Eagles boss with impressive double for Union SG
Nigerian forward Victor Boniface has sent a message to Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro after a man-of-the-match performance for Union St Gilloise in the Europa League.
Boniface was on fire as he scored a brace for Union St Gilloise but it was not enough to inspire them to a win following a thrilling 3-3 draw with Union Berlin in their Europa League round of 16 clash on Thursday night.
The 22-year-old opened the floodgates in the Europa League tie when he put Union SG ahead with an excellent effort which was heavily deflected.
His second goal of the night arrived in the second half following a devastating counterattack led by Bart Nieuwkoop, who did well to play Boniface through and he tucked home with the coolest of touches.
With his double against Union Berlin tonight, Boniface upgraded from his last visit to Stadion der Försterei in Berlin, when he assisted the winner in the Europa League group stage.
Boniface has now scored five goals in six starts for Union St Gilloise in the Europa League, with his latest show surely a message to Super Eagles boss, Peseiro, who is due to name his team for the next International break this month.
