Harry Kane beats Rooney's record to become England's highest goalscorer
England’s Harry Kane has etched his name again in the history books with a goal against Italy in a qualifier for EURO 2024 for the Three Lions.

Kane became the country’s leading goalscorer, as well as its leading goalscorer in competitive fixtures, and the man with the joint-most goals at a single World Cup final for England as the Three Lions beat Italy at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona in Naples, Italy.
Kane scored England’s second goal, which proved to be the winning goal, and in the process, beat Wayne Rooney’s record for the most goals scored in the English national team’s history.

Harry Kane makes history with England
Kane’s 15th goal for England in European qualifiers and 54th in all competitions and friendlies helped him eclipse the record he previously shared with Rooney, and he now stands alone as the sole owner of the record.

Although Kane is yet to win a title with the Three Lions, he is ensuring that he will be remembered by generations to come with yet another milestone to his name and another feather to his international cap.
England’s 2-1 away victory over Italy set them on course for a relatively comfortable qualification for Euro 2024, with their next game set to be against Ukraine giving Kane an opportunity to extend the record even further.
