‘Dreaming of this moment’ - Brighton coach proud of Nnadozie's Yachine Trophy ranking
Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie was nominated for the category of the Yachine Trophy in the Ballon d'Or presentation.
Nnadozie kept four clean sheets in six matches as the Super Falcons clinched their tenth WAFCON title.
Her stellar performances earned her the Goalkeeper of the Tournament award and also finished fourth in the Yachine Trophy rankings.
Nnadozie receives praise from manager
Following their international success, Agyemang was nominated for the Women's Kopa Trophy, while Nnadozie was nominated for the Women's Yachine Trophy.
Nnadozie ultimately finished fourth in the Yachine Trophy rankings, ahead of Daphne van Domselaar and behind Hannah Hampton, Cata Coll and Ann-Katrin Berger.
"As a club, squad, and everyone affiliated with the women's program at Brighton, we are all really proud of them," he said, as reported on the club's official website.
"It's a fantastic achievement to be recognised for one of the most prestigious awards in the footballing world."
"They both had a tremendous summer, lifting continental trophies after winning the Euros and WAFCON. It just showcases how important they were to the success of both their national teams," he continued.
"I'm sure when they were growing up and playing football in the back garden, they were probably dreaming of these moments.
“For them both to fulfil that with their nomination is incredible. They should both be proud of their nomination for this evening," the 38-year-old concluded.
