Cristiano Ronaldo: Mikel Obi accused of taking weed for reportedly claiming Al Nassr star not in PL top 10 greatest
Nigerian football legend John Mikel Obi has been met with a furious backlash from fans after claiming Cristiano Ronaldo is not even among the 10 greatest players in Premier League history.
The former Chelsea midfielder reportedly told TalkSport that Arsenal legend Thierry Henry was "much better" than Ronaldo when it came to the English top flight.

Mikel was quoted as saying per a post on X: "Ronaldo better than Henry in EPL? No, Ronaldo is not even the Top 10 Greatest in the Premier League."
The Nigerian went on to suggest he would pick players like Eden Hazard, Didier Drogba, Frank Lampard, Sergio Aguero and Kevin de Bruyne ahead of the Portuguese superstar for Premier League greatness.
However, Mikel's comments have sparked an angry reaction from fans on social media, with many accusing the ex-midfielder of outlandish statements.
One baffled football journalist simply responded: "Weed", while another said: "He's mad."
Others suggested Mikel may have been under the influence, with comments like "Mikel don high" and "This one mumu".
Another fan seemed equally dismayed, posting: "I'm not surprised na Chelsea legend. Drogba, Aguero, De Bruyne over Ronaldo?"
Ronaldo, who is still starring at the age if 39 at Al Nassr, spent six seasons at Manchester United between 2003 and 2009, winning three Premier League titles, one Champions League and the first of his five Ballon d'Or crowns.
He scored 118 goals in 292 appearances in England's top division before a record-breaking move to Real Madrid.
Meanwhile, Mikel Obi has now refuted the alleged quote attributed to him after taking to his social media to release a statement.
"This statement is completely false and should be regarded as fake news," the former Chelsea and Super Eagles defensive stated.
