Burnley vs Arsenal - Gunners continue chase for Chelsea’s record with another against Clarets
The Gunners now have seven clean sheets in the Premier League and have only conceded three goals this season.
They continue their chase to break Chelsea’s 15-goal conceded in a season record, with another 2-0 victory over Burnley.
As it happened
Burnley boss Scott Parker had named an unchanged side for the Clarets' last two games but makes one change today as Josh Laurent starts.
Arsenal made 10 changes from their League Cup win against Brighton in midweek, with Eberechi Eze the only player to retain his place in the XI.
William Saliba started after missing the Seagulls game due to an injury, while Leandro Trossard also returned to the line-up.
The Gunners had a bright start to the game, pinning Burnley back in the first 15 minutes. Their pressure paid off after getting their first corner kick, with Victor Gyokeres opening the scoring.
Shortly after, Mikel Arteta’s men got the second of the game from a swift counterattack that ended up with a cross toward the path of Declan Rice to head the ball past the goalkeeper, taking the lead to half-time.
In the second half, Arsenal did more of controlling the game, leaving Burnley clueless on how to get past the Gunners' defence.
However, with 10 minutes left in the game, the home side tried pushing to get at least a goal, but the Gunners held on to their clean sheet.
