It's now five points dropped in the space of three days for Uganda Premier League table leaders BUL FC.

Having lost 2-1 to Gaddafi FC on Wednesday in their previous game, the Jinja-based outfit were held to a one-all stalemate by Mbarara City FC on Saturday on home turf.

Gerald Ogweti gave the Oil Manufacturers a deserving lead, only for Joseph Akandanwaho to pounce and spoil the party at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

They now top proceedings with 33 points in 15 matches, having scored 23 goals and conceded 12 headed into the second round, which is slated to kickstart in February.

Second-placed Kitara FC, who beat Soltilo Bright Stars FC 3-1 on Friday, have 29 points, while champions Vipers SC are fourth with 27.

The latter take on Busoga United on Sunday at the St Mary's Stadium, Kitende, and can go within just three points with BUL.

Meanwhile, Mbarara City lies 11th on the 16-team log with 17 points out of a possible 45.

While BUL will kickstart the second round with a trip to KCCA FC, Mbarara will, on the other hand, host Express FC on February 9.
