'Borrow me £100' - Watch as Victor Boniface 'begs' Taiwo Awoniyi for N210,000
Super Eagles duo Victor Boniface and Taiwo Awoniyi have continued their bromance off the pitch after Nigeria secured a victory against Benin Republic.

Ademola Lookman put Nigeria ahead with a goal in extra time of the first half, dribbling past three defenders after Boniface missed several opportunities during the match at Godswill Akpabio International Stadium.
In the 78th minute, Victor Osimhen doubled the lead by converting a cross from Wilfred Ndidi. Five minutes later, Lookman completed his brace, heading in a cross from Moses Simon for Nigeria's third goal.

While the team was en route Kigali for the second 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier clash, Boniface playfully asked Awoniyi to "borrow him 100 pounds."
With the current exchange rate of the British Pound to Naira, £100 would be worth 210,467.30 Nigerian Naira.
The Bayer Leverkusen attacker revealed that he watched the Nottingham Forest striker represent Nigeria at the U-17 World Cup.
"I dey watch you when you dey play U-17 world cup final that time, I swear they send me to buy maggi then but I no buy the maggi na you I go watch, abeg give me 100 pounds, you get money," he said.

In the 2013 FIFA U-17 World Cup final, Taiwo Awoniyi was a standout player for Nigeria; he scored four goals throughout the tournament as Nigeria went on to win the title.
