Benzema stay in Saudi Arabia confirmed, putting to bed transfer speculations

Despite interest from former club Lyon and speculation about a possible move this month, Benzema has made it clear that he will not be departing before the SPL transfer window closes.

Rumours of Karim Benzema's departure from Al Ittihad have been circulating recently, with reports suggesting that the 36-year-old striker was considering a move away from the Saudi Pro League outfit. 

Former club Lyon was among the clubs reportedly exploring the possibility of bringing Benzema back, adding fuel to the transfer speculations.

However, amidst the speculation, Benzema has affirmed his commitment to Al Ittihad, signalling that he intends to remain with the club for the foreseeable future. 

Despite the allure of a potential return to Lyon or other opportunities that may have arisen, Benzema has opted to stay put, at least for the time being as reported by David Ornstein of the Athletic 

The confirmation of Benzema's decision to stay with Al Ittihad comes as a relief to fans of the Saudi Pro League side, who value the experience and goal-scoring prowess that the veteran striker brings to the team.
