With his exceptional time, Walaza became the second-fastest African U20 in history behind Olympic champion Letsile Tebogo's 9.91s.
He also set a South African junior record, thus marking his professional debut with a loud statement.
Walaza's impressive performance in Zagreb and steady progress this season proves he's one of the brightest sprint talents in the world, and more consistency can spring on to something special at the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
