Barcelona vs Levante: Cancelo rolls backs the years as Blaugrana reclaim LALIGA lead

Barcelona dominated from start to finish against the worst defence in LALIGA, beating Levante 3-0 to return to first position on the standings.

All three goals came from midfielders: Marc Bernal, Frenkie de Jong, and Fermin Lopez, with Barcelona's front three of Raphinha, Robert Lewandowski, and Lamine Yamal leaving a lot to be desired. However, the standout performer on the day was Cancelo, who initiated most of Barcelona's dangerous attacks.

Collecting maximum points against Levante ensured that Barcelona returned to first place, capitalising on Real Madrid's defeat to Osasuna.

Barcelona drew first blood early, with Marc Bernal opening the scoring in the 4th minute. The young forward reacted sharply to a low cross from Eric García and guided a composed finish past Matt Ryan, which sent the Camp Nou into celebration and set the tone for the rest of the contest.

The hosts continued to press purposefully and doubled their lead in the 32nd minute. Frenkie de Jong ghosted into space and finished from close range following a precise cross from Cancelo to make it 2–0 and give Barcelona a comfortable cushion heading into the break. 

Barcelona’s control grew after the interval, and they put the match beyond doubt in the 81st minute. Substitute Fermín López produced a fine finish from outside the box, curling a left-footed strike into the net to complete the scoring and seal a decisive 3–0 win. 

Levante offered occasional glimpses but rarely troubled Barcelona’s defence, and the visitors finished with few meaningful chances as the Blaugrana maintained dominance in possession and territory throughout the 90 minutes.
