Araujo has returned to training under manager Hansi Flick, but the club's financial woes could still force his sale.

Barcelona may consider activating Araujo's temporary €60 million release clause due to ongoing Financial Fair Play pressures, according to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, via Sportal.

The clause is active from July 1st to 15th and allows other clubs to sign the central defender for the fixed fee. Araujo's current contract, extended in January until 2031, includes this short-term clause.

Arsenal and Juventus expressed interest in Araujo during the winter transfer window, and recent reports suggest Manchester United, Liverpool, Bayern Munich, and AC Milan are also monitoring the situation.

However, if no club activates the release clause, Flick expects the defender to play a key role for Barcelona in the 2025/2026 season.
