Barça style could suit him - Gary Lineker backs Rashford to shine in Spain
Former Barcelona and England striker Gary Lineker has publicly thrown his weight behind Marcus Rashford, tipping him for a successful spell at Camp Nou.
Lineker, a revered figure who played for the Catalan club in his prime, believes that Rashford, despite a challenging period recently at Manchester United, possesses the qualities to thrive under Hansi Flick's leadership.
What Linker said
Speaking on Rashford's potential, Lineker hailed him as a "great player" and suggested his versatility could make him an excellent fit for Barcelona's tactical setup.
"Barça haven't had an Englishman in their team for a long time, and it's a good signing. He's a great player," Lineker said.
He continued, "He's had his problems at United in recent years; he hasn't played much, but he has a lot of talent. The problem is Manchester United; those who have come out of there have played better elsewhere. He's very fast, very dangerous, and a good person."
"His best position is on the left wing, but he can also play as a centre-forward. He's very quick when he has the ball at his feet. The best position is on the left. Flick's Barça style of play could suit him very well because he's very dangerous.”
Rashford, having spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, now seeks to revive his career at one of Europe's most prestigious clubs.
The loan deal, which reportedly includes an option for Barcelona to make the transfer permanent for around €35 million, also sees the Spanish club covering Rashford's full wages.
