Axel Disasi urges teammates to remain humble ahead of Carabao Cup final

Following a commendable 1-1 draw against Manchester City, Disasi and his teammates are feeling positive but are cautious about declaring a full-scale revival just yet.

Disasi was the standout performer in Chelsea's last match, a gripping 1-1 draw at Manchester City, which served as a prelude to the upcoming Carabao Cup final against Liverpool at Wembley. 

The 25-year-old defender's heroic defensive efforts, marked by a record 16 clearances, earned him high praise, with Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher likening his performance to that of Chelsea legend John Terry. 

Despite a late equalizer from City's Rodri, the Blues' resilient showing has set a confident tone as they prepare for their showdown at Wembley.

Disasi, reflecting on Chelsea's recent form, insists that it's premature to say "Chelsea are back" but acknowledges the positive momentum within the squad. 

"The last three games have been good but we have to stay humble and keep going as we are now and push forward," Disasi shared with Standard Sport. 

His call for humility and consistency underlines the team's cautious optimism, as they aim to build on their performances without getting ahead of themselves.

With a personal milestone ahead, Disasi is set to make his first appearance at Wembley, a moment he describes as a dream come true. 

Having been a part of a school trip to the iconic stadium years ago, the defender is now poised to play a pivotal role in Chelsea's quest for their first silverware since the 2021 Champions League.
