McCarthy has opted for a strong yet balanced side as Kenya seeks to build on recent performances and close their qualifying campaign on a high.

Brian Bwire has been trusted between the posts, continuing his good run after impressing in the previous game against Seychelles.

He will be protected by a center back pairing featuring Collins Sichenje and Sylvester Owino, with Ronney Onyango and Vincent Harper occupying the full back slots, all of whom have formed a solid defensive unit in McCarthy’s recent setups.

With first-choice keeper Byrne Omondi on the bench, this game provides Bwire another chance to prove himself ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which Kenya will co-host.

The midfield sees Austin Odhiambo and Duke Abuya take charge in the two number eight positions, with Manzur Okwaro sitting as the defensive midfielder. Odhiambo’s inclusion stands out — the Gor Mahia playmaker returns to the starting lineup, bringing creativity and link-up play to Kenya’s attacking transitions.

William Lenkupae starts on the left flank, with Adam Wilson starting on the right.

Captain Michael Olunga spearheads the attack,, as Kenya looks to end the window with a statement win. Olunga, currently three goals shy of breaking the all-time national scoring record, will be aiming to find the net again after his brace against Seychelles.
