Aucho, Onyango, and Watenga learn continental opponents

The CAF Champions League and Confederations Cup draw in Cairo on Wednesday night allowed Ugandans Khalid Aucho, Ismael Watenga and Denis Onyango to learn about their opponents.

The draw served up some mouthwatering clashes; in the CAF Confederations Cup, Khalid Aucho’s Young Africans will face Nigeria’s Rivers United, while Ismael Watenga’s Marumo Gallants will face Egyptian side Pyramids FC.

Morocco’s AS FAR against Algeria’s USM Alger and Ivory Coast’s ASEC Mimosas facing Tunisia’s US Monastir complete the draw.

In the same vein, The CAF Champions League draw will see Denis Onyango’s Mamelodi Sundowns face Algeria’s Belouizdad while Tanzanian giants Simba SC face current champions Wydad Casablanca.

Record CAF Champions League champions Al Ahly face Moroccan giants Raja Casablanca while Algeria’s Kabylie faces Tunisia’s Espérance.

The CAF Champions League quarter-final first leg ties will be played between the 21st to 22nd of April, with the return legs set to take place between the 28th and 29th of April.

For the CAF Confederations Cup, first-leg ties will be played between the 21st and 23rd of April, while the return-leg ties will be between the 28th and 30th of April.
