Things didn't start favorably for most of the Villa Park faithful. The Cottagers took an early lead in the 3rd minute, with Raúl Jiménez netting his debut league goal via a well-placed header.

But the day of firsts didn't stop there. In the 37th minute, Ollie Watkins leveled the score before halftime with a perfect chip over Leno, marking his first goal of the campaign.

The second half saw the victory sealed in less than two minutes. In the 49th minute, John McGinn drove forward and fired a shot from the edge of the box to put Villa ahead. Just two minutes later, in the 51st, Watkins crossed from the left, and Buendía struck from the heart of the area to make it 3-1.

These three points lift Aston Villa out of the Premier League relegation zone. Fulham, meanwhile, sit in 10th place with eight points.
