'Ask him for anything and he'll give' - Ex-Real Madrid star Casilla says Ronaldo is a wonderful human
Former Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla has offered a rare glimpse into the benevolent side of Cristiano Ronaldo, revealing how the Portuguese superstar once gifted brand new iPhones and Apple Watches to every single member of the club's staff.
Casilla's account aims to dispel notions of Ronaldo being solely self-focused, instead painting a picture of a "wonderful human being" with a profound appreciation for those around him.
What Casilla said
Casilla disclosed that Ronaldo is a class act both on and off the pitch.
Speaking to El After de Post United, the 38-year-old goalkeeper fondly recalled Ronaldo's generosity.
"He's a phenomenon, a wonderful human being who helps even the last youngster coming up from the academy. Ask him for anything and he'll give it to you," Casilla stated.
He added, “When we went to the United States for pre-season, he bought all the staff, including physiotherapists, security guards, and other team members, the latest iPhone and Apple Watch. These are things he doesn't mention himself because there's no point bragging about it. He's a person who likes to help or thank everyone around him with those gestures.”
Ronaldo's nine record-shattering years at the Santiago Bernabéu, from 2009 to 2018, saw him etch his name into the club's history books with an astounding 450 goals and 131 assists across 438 appearances.
During this illustrious period, CR7 was instrumental in Real Madrid securing a multitude of trophies, including two La Liga titles, four domestic cup wins, four Champions League crowns, and three Club World Cups, firmly cementing his legacy as an all-time great.
