Super Eagles striker has turned up at the team hotel ahead of Napoli's clash against Udinese amid the fallout from the TikTok incident
The TikTok video and Osimhen legal option
The shocking video made the rounds on the internet yesterday, which originated from Napoli's official TikTok handle making a mockery of an Osimhen penalty miss.
The Nigerian striker missed from 12 yards in the draw against Bologna, somewhat costing his team three points, and the Partenopei clipped the penalty attempt and made fun of it on TikTok.
This enraged fans, who were bewildered as to why the club would choose to make a mockery of its own player. The ensuing backlash compelled the club to take down the video.
Although the video has been deleted from the page, the player's agent, Robert Calenda, released the following statement denouncing it:
“What happened today on Napoli's official profile on the TikTok platform is not acceptable. A video mocking Victor was first made public and then, but now belatedly, deleted.”
“A serious fact that causes very serious damage to the player and adds to the treatment that the boy is suffering in the last period between media trials and fake news.
“We reserve the right to take legal action and any useful initiative to protect Victor.”
Osimhen turns up for matchday
Calenda did not seem to be acting alone, as the player arrived at the club's hotel visibly distraught.
In a video shared by Fabrizio Romano, the player was seen entering the Napoli facilities today ahead of the match against Le Zebrette. Osimhen was not his usual cheery self in the clip, wearing a stern look on his face as he stepped into the complex.

Also, the former Wolfsburg man, after greeting a member of the staff, one Giuseppe Santoro, seemingly failed to acknowledge the outstretched hand of his teammates, who made a move to greet him, walking past the duo of Piotr Zielinsky and Diego Demme.
The Serie A champions play Udinese tonight at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium, and Osimhen was named in the squad as they look to halt a run of three games without a win.
