“I've seen the AFCON; I've been there. I've been impressed with Algeria; unfortunately, they got kicked out by Nigeria. I'm impressed by the team coached by Regragui, the manager of Morocco, very pragmatic, very direct, and playing counterattack,” he said.

“I was impressed with Nigeria; they play good football. When you see the stats, they've been scoring more than usual goals. Full strike, full attack, playing very good football.

"The most impressive for me, in my opinion, was Nigeria, the football they were playing, the goals they were scoring, the players they have. I think they have two African best players in their team, and they were playing such wonderful game before they were kicked out by Morocco in the semi-final."

He also praised Congo, before discussing his country, Ivory Coast’s, performance He thought the defending champions played well, but he thought they were young and naive.
