On the eve of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations match, Nigeria's Super Eagles received their promised housing rewards from the Federal Government for their runner-up finish at the 2023 AFCON.
The National Sports Commission (NSC) delivered on the 2024 pledge in a ceremony at the team's base in Fez, Morocco, just before their opening game against Tanzania.

NSC Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko presented the housing certificates to the players, marking a significant morale boost as they begin their new campaign.
An official announcement on the Super Eagles' social media channels confirmed the news: "The Federal Government of Nigeria has fulfilled its 2024 promise on housing rewards following the Super Eagles’ silver-medal finish at the 2023 AFCON in Côte d’Ivoire."

NSC confirms reward
In an interview with Arise Television on Friday, December 19, Dikko elaborated on the comprehensive reward package, which also includes land, national honours, and financial incentives for the Super Eagles, the women's national football team (Super Falcons), and the women's basketball team (D'Tigress).
"I can tell you Mr President has already approved the houses and the land for the Super Eagles, and the National Awards, and the monies for the Super Falcons. All that has been processed," Dikko stated.
He confirmed that all necessary documentation for the rewards was complete and in his possession.
"As I speak to you, I have in my possession all the Certificates of Occupancy for the houses of the players in Lagos and Abuja for both the Super Eagles, Super Falcons and D’Tigress," he added. "I have all the certificates for the National Awards."
Dikko also noted that the financial rewards were in the final stages of disbursement, explaining, "The money has been processed and is currently at the payment point at the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation."
