Ademola Lookman: Atalanta make decision amid interest from Fenerbahce and Osimhen's Galatasaray
Atalanta have rejected approaches from both Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray for Ademola Lookman, insisting the Nigeria international will remain in Bergamo until at least the end of the season, unless a premium bid arrives.
Both Turkish giants made formal enquiries this winter transfer, with Galatasaray exploring a loan-plus-option structure, while Osimhen pressured Lookman to join him in Istanbul. Fenerbahçe, meanwhile, sounded out a permanent deal. Still, Atalanta immediately deemed both proposals financially insufficient.
Atalanta's unwavering stance
According to MSN.com, the Serie A club are understood to be holding out for a minimum fee of €45 million and will not sell the Super Eagles ace in January unless such an offer arrives.
Neither Turkish club came close to that valuation, prompting Atalanta to close negotiations quickly, per the report.
Sporting director Tony D’Amico has maintained a firm stance on Lookman’s future across multiple transfer windows, blocking Inter Milan’s move in summer 2025, when Atalanta rejected bids worth around €35 million, and again resisting approaches from Premier League and Saudi Pro League clubs earlier this season.
D’Amico publicly reiterated in December 2025 that Lookman is “central to Atalanta’s sporting project”, stressing the club would only sanction a sale “for an extraordinary offer.” That policy has led them to reject approaches from Fenerbahçe and Galatasaray this January.
With Atalanta competing strongly in Serie A’s top-four race and the UEFA Champions League knockout phase, the club see Lookman as indispensable for their objectives, making a January exit virtually impossible.
As things stand, Atalanta’s hierarchy are committed to keeping the 27-year-old until at least June 2026, unless a bid equalling or exceeding €45 million forces a rethink.
