However, it was AC Milan that got the deserved 1-0 victory over last season's league winners Napoli.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli made just one change to his side that defeated Frosinone last weekend with Adil replacing Reijnders in the midfield.

Walter Mazzarri of Napoli made three changes to his team that defeated Hellas Verona last weekend.

Milan looked the better in the first half, creating several chances to take the lead in the first 20 minutes.

The goal came in the 25th minute when Rafael Leao squared the ball to Theo Hernandez, who beat Pierluigi Gollini with a brilliant shot into the bottom left corner.

AC Milan went into the break with a goal advantage over Napoli, with the game still open in the second half.

The home side started the second half brightly and looked to extend their lead early on in the game.

Milan managed the game very well although they could not convert their chances to get the second goal of the game.

The referee blew the whistle for full-time, with AC Milan sealing the win against Napoli and staying third on the league table.
