The 26-year-old Kanu has reason to celebrate following her exploits in the United States of America (USA).

Kanu took to her official social media platforms to celebrate her meeting with the Louisville Mayor.

She posted her meeting with the Mayor of Louisville along with a certificate of proclamation.

Kanu's meeting with the Mayor was to celebrate members of Racing Louisville who participated in the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Along with the photos was a message by Kanu that said, "It is an honor to not only meet the mayor of our city but also receive this incredible proclamation from him.

"It is a privilege to have represented my country and this amazing city at the just concluded FIFA WOMEN’S WORLD CUP in Australia/New Zealand!

Kanu receives flowers on return to Racing Louisville

Kanu was a key player for the Super Falcons as they progressed to the round of 16 of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

She featured in all four games for the Super Falcons starting the game twice and also coming off the bench twice.

Kanu did not return to Nigeria with the Super Falcons as she opted to go back to her club, Racing Louisville.

On her return, Kanu was welcomed along with her other teammates who participated in the World Cup from Racing Louisville.

Kanu returned with Savannah DeMelo of the USA Women's National Team, Ary Borges of Brazil, and Wang Shuang of China.

All four players were presented with flowers from Racing Louisville and cheered by the crowd.

Kanu will now feature with Racing Louisville as they take on Michelle Alozie's Houston Dash in their next NWSL fixture.
