Vardy was let through on goal immediately after Leicester tied the game, and after giving the ball to James Maddison, the seasoned forward went around Jordan Pickford to score into an empty net.

Fans dreading relegation criticized the player they thought was at fault for the Toffees' deficit in the game despite their team's stellar start.

Iwobi would later add a second goal to Sean Dyche's team's tally, joining Caglar Soyuncu and Dominic Calvert-Lewin as the points were split.
