University of Ibadan to participate Africa University Sports 3x3 Basketball Challenge

A total of 16 universities from 11 countries have registered to participate in this highly anticipated event.

Nigeria's University of Ibadan will join other universities in Africa to fight for Africa's ticket for the FISU University World Cup 3x3 Basketball.

The fifth Afro Varsity 3x3 Basketball Challenge, originally planned for April, was rescheduled to June 22nd-25th, 2023 at the University of Johannesburg Bunting Road Campus, South Africa.

A total of 16 universities from 11 countries have registered to participate in this highly anticipated event.

The participating countries in the fifth edition of the Basketball Challenge include Zambia, Libya, Nigeria, Egypt, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius, and Madagascar.

The primary objective of this tournament is to identify the top-performing teams that will represent Africa at the FISU University World Cup 3x3 Basketball.

75 student-athletes to represent Nigeria at World University Games

Pulse Sports reported that the Nigerian University Games Association (NUGA) has selected 75 student-athletes to represent Nigeria at the World University Games.

The students were picked at the trials held in Benin City, Edo State.

The 75 student-athletes were selected from 22 universities and compete in seven different sports disciplines.

These brilliant athletes were discovered, trained, and developed in Nigerian universities, which helped them realize their full potential.

Nigeria is expected to compete for honors in seven games, including track and field, swimming, badminton, judo, Taekwondo, Table Tennis, and Tennis.
