Israel Adesanya has been acknowledged for taking his first chance to win UFC gold.

When then-current champion Robert Whittaker was sidelined, Adesanya and American Kelvin Gastelum fought for the interim middleweight title at UFC 236 in Atlanta in 2019.

Adesanya won his first UFC title belt at the moment and now both competitors now have a spot in the UFC Hall of Fame's fight wing.
