Israel Adesanya has received advise from Kamaru Usman on the strategy for finishing his UFC career.
This past Saturday's main event at ANB Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, saw Adesanya lose for the third time in a row after being knocked out by Nassourdine Imavov.
With the loss, Adesanya has now dropped four of his last five fights
"The Last Stylebender" has nothing left to show after successfully defending his UFC middleweight title five times, according to Usman, who is good friends with Adesanya.
Kamaru Usman on Israel Adesanya
After controlling the middleweight class for over ten years, he would like to see Adesanya take part in intriguing stylistic matchups, as Anderson Silva did before ending his career.
Speaking on his Pound for Pound for Pound podcast with Henry Cejudo, Usman stated he wants Adesanya to pick fights for fun.
He said, "Right now, Izzy, take your time.
"When you want to come back at the end of the year then take a fight that makes sense."
Silva fought against Adesanya in fun UFC bouts before hanging up his gloves in 2020.
