Operation save my marriage: Pep Guardiola jets off to Spain in last-ditch attempt to win back his estranged wife Cristina Serra
Pep Guardiola isn’t giving up without a fight.
The Manchester City manager reportedly jetted off to Barcelona in a hush-hush bid to salvage his 30-year marriage to Cristina Serra, just months after the couple’s shocking split announcement.
As per The Sun, Guardiola, 54, took a private jet from Manchester to Barcelona mere hours after City’s 3-1 FA Cup victory over Plymouth last Saturday.
The timing was crucial as City had a seven-day break before their next Premier League clash against Nottingham Forest, which ended in defeat for the defending champions.
The Blues gaffer used the gap to rekindle the flame with his estranged wife, spending three nights at their family home.
“They spent three nights together in Barcelona, both staying at the family home,” a source disclosed to The Sun.
“Pep went out on Monday to the dentist and Cristina went to her fashion shop in the city centre.
"They met up again at the shop and spent three hours there before returning to the house to spend the evening together. Pep left for Manchester on Tuesday morning.”
A potential u-turn to a love story on the brink of collapse?
Despite the divorce bombshell in January, sources insist Guardiola has “not given up hope on his marriage.”
The football icon and his wife, Cristina, 52, have reportedly opted for a civilised split, even hiring the same lawyer to oversee the divorce proceedings.
The couple, who share three children, have been making efforts to ensure a smooth transition for their family.
With Guardiola’s estimated $126 million fortune on the line, the pair had already sketched out the framework of a multi-million-pound settlement.
However, Pep’s surprise trip to Spain has sparked speculation that the door to reconciliation isn’t entirely closed.
Reports in Spain suggest the couple’s struggles began when Cristina moved back to Barcelona in 2019, a shift that distanced them emotionally.
And now, this secret rendezvous, has left fans wondering if perhaps, love could still win after all.
For now, neither Guardiola nor Serra have publicly commented on the matter.
