Okonkwo’s performances have sparked ongoing speculation about a potential call-up to the Nigerian national team.

Since switching his international allegiance from England to Nigeria, he has been available for selection, with Nigeria seeking to bolster competition for goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Maduka Okoye.

Fans have also expressed their admiration for Okonkwo’s contributions. One supporter commented, “Nice, well done, Arthur. Now finish this season strong.”

Another described him as “My Player of the Season,” adding that “Big Arthur is the main reason Wrexham performed so well this season. Our defence always looks much more settled with him behind them, plus he just picks off so many corners and crosses. Such a keeper and still only a young one. Looking forward to see him progress.”

Another fan highlighted the significance of his clean sheets, saying, “An amazing metric considering how many times our centre-backs have been caught out, couldn’t keep pace or mark up, have committed handballs or penalties this season. Max and Okonkwo have been spectacular this season!”
