Wildcards Derby and Battle of the Stars to excite fans as Naija Super 8 enters KNOCKOUT

The Naija Super 8 enters its knockout stage with the quartet of Akwa United, Remo Stars, Sporting Lagos and Lobi Stars left in the competition.

The Naija Super 8 reached the semifinal stage after the men were separated from the boys in the group stages.

CAF Champions League side Remo Stars lead the way alongside Akwa United, Sporting Lagos and Lobi Stars. It is an all-NPFL affair with a lot still at stake at this stage of the competition.

The battles ahead in the Super 8

It started with eight teams led by the NPFL champions Enyimba, who failed to win a single game, and now, only four left in the tournament.

The race for N25 million continues on Friday as four NPFL teams chase the big prize.

Remo Stars vs Lobi Stars

In what is rightly tagged the ‘Battle of the stars’, Remo and Lobi will get the day’s activities off at Onikan.

Lobi Stars sealed their place in the top four following an unbeaten run that saw them take seven points from a possible nine to finish top of Group B.

Their opponents on the day, Remo, needed a favour from Sporting Lagos on the final day of the group stages to sneak into the last four

This particular clash is a repeat of the NPFL Super 6 clash which saw Remo beat Lobi 2-0.

Sporting Lagos vs Akwa United

The second semifinal game of the day will see the rave of the moment Sporting Lagso go head-to-head against Akwa United.

This is the first-ever encounter between these two sides who have played some brilliant football so far in the competition.

Sporting, who are the only other team to finish unbeaten in the group stages having finished top of Group A, take on Akwa United who came from Group B.

The home side and their fans have brought some vibes in the tournament so far but will go into this one as underdogs against an experienced Akwa United.
