Nottingham Forest's manager, Nuno Espirito Santo, has faith that Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi will return to his best.

This season, Awoniyi has struggled to build on his last season’s performance, which has seen his playing time limited.

The forward has failed to find the back of the net this season and has seen his place taken by Chris Woods.

Wood has scored eight goals this season and his form has made fans worried about the future of the Super Eagles star.

Espirito shows support for Awoniyi

Nuno has claimed that Awoniyi will get back to his best after getting a starting berth against Arsenal last week.

According to Nottinghamshire Live, Nottingham Forest's manager said, "It's his fitness, his confidence and he is looking for his goal.

"Everything changes in the mindset of a striker when you score; suddenly everything comes. We are waiting for this click. We trust him."

Nottingham Forest's manager claims all Awoniyi needs to do is score one goal and he will get back to his best.

Nottingham Forest will face Ipswich Town at the City Ground today and Awoniyi will be looking to get another start.
