Sporting Lisbon are reportedly facing a Viktor Gyokeres rebellion as the key forward feels betrayed over a broken promise.
Viktor Gyokeres has reportedly threatened to go on strike at Sporting Lisbon to secure a transfer away from the club this summer.
The Sweden international enjoyed an impressive 2024-25 season, scoring 54 goals and providing 13 assists in 52 appearances.
Price dispute for Gyokeres emerges
With Manchester United and Arsenal expressing interest in signing him, Gyokeres has an £85 million release clause in his contract; however, Sporting may be willing to let him go for around £70 million.
According to Record sources, Gyokeres feels betrayed by the club and has informed them he will not play again unless a transfer is finalised.
The Red Devils are considered frontrunners for the 27-year-old, largely due to his connection with head coach Ruben Amorim.
The Manchester giants, linked with Victor Osimhen, are searching for a new centre-forward after Rasmus Hojlund's underwhelming performance, although some reports suggest that the former Atalanta man is expected to stay at Old Trafford.
