Transfer news: Juventus make move with first enquiry to steal Arsenal target Gyokeres
Juventus continues its search for a striker, with two clear targets in mind, Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres.
Sporting's Swedish forward is reportedly the preferred candidate for the Bianconeri, who have already initiated contact regarding his acquisition.
Juventus make Gyokeres' move
According to Tuttosport, via Abola, Juventus recently reached out to the player's representatives to gather more detailed information about Sporting's demands for a potential transfer.
However, the situation is complex and far from straightforward. The player's agent claims the existence of an agreement—more than just verbal—that would allow the player to leave this summer for a minimum fee of €60 million, plus €10 million in bonuses.
However, Sporting's president, Frederico Varandas, and the club are holding out for a higher fee, closer to €80 million for the striker, who had an impressive season with 54 goals in 52 games, helping Sporting win the league title and the Portuguese Cup.
Juventus isn't alone in the race for the Swede, with Arsenal also monitoring the situation. Gyokeres is reportedly open to a return to England and the Premier League.
Should a deal for Gyokeres fall through, Juventus is expected to shift its focus to Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.
