Super Eagles prospect Chido-Obi scores his first senior goals for Manchester United in Hong Kong, revealing his dedication and hunger to conquer the Premier League.

Super Eagles-eligible young talent Chido Obi is already making waves at Manchester United after scoring his first senior goals during the club’s post-season tour in Hong Kong.

The 17-year-old striker turned hero as the Red Devils came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory, avoiding another embarrassing defeat on their tour.

Speaking to MUFC after the match, Obi reflected on the significance of the moment and shared his determination to keep improving.

“It is a big moment because I have been waiting a long time for this moment,” he said according to the club’s website.

“Every time I get the opportunity I stay out with the finishing coach to do extra. The fans here are amazing.”

Manchester United had a slow start, falling behind after 20 minutes to a goal from former Rangers winger Juninho.

Wonderkid Chido Obi-Martin joined Man United from Arsenal.

However, the team turned things around in the second half, with Chido-Obi equalising and then scoring again in the 82nd minute to put the Reds ahead.

Another new Manchester United signing from Arsenal, Ayden Heaven sealed the win with a stoppage-time goal.

Chido-Obi, a Denmark youth international who joined United from Arsenal this season, has already broken records at the Academy level thanks to his sharp eye for goal.

His brace against Hong Kong was a natural progression of his talent and hard work.

The young striker made his senior debut in February at Tottenham Hotspur and has mostly featured as a substitute during the latter half of the 2024/25 season.

On Friday, he was brought on at halftime at Hong Kong Stadium and quickly made his mark with two crucial goals that turned the game around.

This win came after a disappointing 1-0 loss to ASEAN All-Stars in Kuala Lumpur earlier in the week, where the team was booed off the pitch.

Despite the challenges, Chido-Obi’s breakthrough performance signals a bright future for the young Nigerian prospect as he aims to find his feet in the Premier League with Manchester United.
