Ahmed Musa has been appointed as the general manager of Kano Pillars

The Governor of Kano, Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced the reconstitution of the club’s management board, appointing Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa as the new General Manager of the Kano Pillars Football Club.

The decision, made public on Friday via a statement from the governor’s spokesperson, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, follows the expiration of the previous board’s one-year mandate.

The reshuffle comes as part of a broader strategic effort to reposition the historic club ahead of the 2025/2026 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.

Musa, a national football icon and former Kano Pillars player, returns to the club in an executive capacity after a storied career in Europe and with the Nigerian national team.

His appointment is seen as a major statement of intent from the Kano State Government.

“The inclusion of Ahmed Musa reflects our desire to blend administrative competence with football experience,” Governor Yusuf stated.

He continued, “We believe his presence will inspire players, attract investment, and rekindle supporters’ enthusiasm.”

The newly constituted 17-member board will be chaired by Ali Muhammad Umar (Nayara). Other members include Salisu Mohammed Kosawa, Yusuf Danladi (Andy Cole), Idris Malikawa Garu, Nasiru Bello, and Muhammad Ibrahim (Hassan West).
