Sporting Lagos hold off Katsina
Backed by their ever-loud fans, known as the Noisy Lagosians, Sporting Lagos survived a late barrage of attacks from the Chanji Boys.
In a repeat of the Naija Super 8 clash between the teams, the home side dominated the first half and were rewarded with a fine solo goal from midfield star, Naantuam.

Naantuam broke from the left and evaded a sea of legs marking him before letting a low effort into the bottom right corner.
It was a special moment for the star whose goal gave Sporting the lead at the break.
But Katsina United fought back in the second half as they piled the pressure on their hosts in search of the equaliser.
But despite their effort, it was the Tech Boys who could have added to the scoreline but Junior Lokosa’s effort from close range looked easier to miss than score and the veteran chose the former.
Sporting Lagos held on to the final whistle to take all three points, putting an end to a run of three matches without a win in the NPFL.
What the result means
Following their return to winning ways, Sporting Lagos moved up the table from the previous 14th to 10th with 15 points.
For Katsina United, they have now dropped down to 14th, replacing their hosts, Sporting on the table.
